Children's Faith Formation

Our Catholic school, John Paul II, is dedicated to forming disciples of Christ and inspiring children to lead virtuous lives and reach their full-potential. We are committed to academic excellence, individualized hands-on learning, and helping students thrive socially and emotionally. Christ is at the center of our mission, and we live this out through a focus on prayer, service and community. We have small class sizes, excellent experienced teachers, and a variety of extra enrichment activities such as band, Spanish, robotics, Project Lead the Way and STEM, Theology of the Body, CYO sports, etc. JPII students attend Mass twice weekly and take leadership parts in it.

School of Religion is primarily for children in grades K-8 who are not enrolled in Catholic School, however, children from Catholic schools or homeschool are also welcome and encouraged to attend. SOR provides systematic catechesis for children and preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation. SOR meets Sundays, 9:30-10:45 a.m. from the end of August through the first week of May.

First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation are celebrated in the parish. Preparation takes place in SOR and John Paul II School classrooms with additional parent/child meetings at St. Pius X for each Sacrament. First Reconciliation is usually celebrated in the first semester and First Eucharist at the end of April.

Confirmation preparation for all St. Pius X students takes place in grade 8 or above and begins with a parent/student meeting in the Fall and continues with Sunday meetings for students from noon to 2:00 p.m. until Confirmation. Provides age appropriate scripture readings, creed and prayers of the Faithful with children to promote participation and understanding of the Liturgy. The Catholic Montessori Homeschool Hybrid is a program for homeschool kids and meets two days per week. It began in 2023. More information can be found on their website. catholicmontessorihybrid.com
