Fr. Gerard Alba
Pastor
Welcome to our parish in Mission, KS!
We're so glad you are here seeking to know our Lord in a loving community. May you find a home with us. May it be a place of rest and nourishment for you, in mind, body, and soul - a place to be who you were meant to be - to be fully alive in Jesus.
As part of our parish family, may you become inspired and strengthened in the Spirit of Jesus, joining us in actively living the Gospel as an instrument of Christ's love, truth, and mercy in the world.
Lou Anne Wagner
Office Manager
Lou Anne was baptized at St. Pius X and went to gradeschool here. She has served our parish on staff for the past 23 years. When not working, Lou Anne is hanging out with friends, taking care of her dog Athena and connecting with her two sons. Lou Anne has a big welcoming heart, a listening ear, and a beautiful voice in the choir.
Jacob Rocha
Custodian
Starting in High School as a Dental Technician I had 24 years of making teeth. I needed a change so I became a Custodian for eight years at KCKPS taking care of the Administration Building then being promoted to Head Custodian of my own school Rosedale Middle School. I live in Olathe with my wife, we have four kids and one grandson Camden. In my free time I'm home with the kids or watching movies or listening to music or hanging out in Topeka with my family. I also travel for concerts and food and off the wall attractions. I'm very grateful to be here at St.Pius X and plan to be here a long time taking care of the Church. Thank you Father Gerard and Lou Anne for giving me this opportunity and making me feel very welcome here.

She says, "I feel so blessed to be able to take on this role at St. Pius and be a part of this wonderful community!"
Kathy O'Bryan
Director of Religious Education, Part-time
If asked what the most important thing you should know about her is, she will say: “I have 9 grandchildren.” Kathy is a cradle Catholic who had the benefit of 12 years of Catholic education before she and Cliff married and raised a family of 4 children. When her children were in grade school she heard the call to catechesis when her sister-in-law volunteered her to work with a CCD class. After 8 years as a volunteer, she went to work in the Religious Ed. Department of Queen of the Holy Rosary in Overland Park, first as secretary and then as DRE. After 12 years there, she moved on to work as both DRE and RCIA Director at Queen of the Holy Rosary, Wea, for 10 years before she and her husband retired in 2015 and moved into St. Pius X Parish where they immediately felt at home. She is happy to be working with the children and families of the parish and hopes to stay as long as the Lord allows.

The Mission of St. Pius X Catholic Church
Fully alive in Jesus Christ, anointed by the Holy Spirit, we will invite, heal, nurture and empower the person, the family, and the community.
History
On June 28, 1954, Archbishop Edward J. Hunkeler announced the formation of a new parish between Roe and Antioch and the county line to 65th Street. 5 acres of land at 55th and Woodson had been purchased in 1947 for a future parish. Father Francis Glowacki was appointed as the founding pastor. On the next day, 5601 Woodson was purchased for use as the rectory. On September 8, the parish is named St. Pius X after the recently canonized pope.
Ground was broken on February 27, 1955 and Archbishop Hunkeler blessed and lays the cornerstone on May 27, 1955. The First Mass and Blessing of the church by Archbishop Hunkeler was October 5, 1955. On January 27, 1956, St. Pius X School opened its doors to 290 students.
